A quick Pinterest search for kindergarten turkey activities can quickly become overwhelming because there are so many to choose from! That’s why I wanted to help you save some time by narrowing down the list to some of my favorite turkey math activities for kindergarten.

1. Turkey Patterns Pocket Chart Activity

Turkey feathers can inspire pattern practice for your kindergarteners! This pocket chart activity is perfect for introducing and practicing patterns with your class before moving on to other pattern activities.

2. Turkey Patterning Worksheet

After practicing patterns together as a class, students can complete this worksheet by coloring turkey feathers in different patterns. There are four patterns that students can practice, plus there is space for them to create and label their own patterns.

3. Turkey Pattern Books

Colorful covers for four different pattern books

These turkey pattern books are another fun way for students to practice different patterns. Each mini book focuses on a different type of pattern that students can practice in different ways.

4. Turkey Pattern Crafts

Once students have had a chance to explore different patterns, they can create a turkey craft to show off what they’ve learned!

A completed turkey pattern craft

For the first craft, students will place feathers on the turkey in a pattern of their choice. They will then write how many feathers their turkey has and what kind of pattern they used.

The second craft gives students the chance to practice many different types of patterns! Each turkey feather is created with a different combination of colored squares in patterns chosen by the student. It’s so fun to see all of the variety in the finished turkey crafts!

5. Hide and Find the Turkey

You an also have some turkey fun as students practice number identification. Students will try to find the hidden turkey by calling out the number on the card they want to look behind. This game is always a hit with students!

6. Count Turkey Feathers

This turkey-themed worksheet is a fun way for students to practice number identification and one-to-one correspondence. They will color in the correct number of feathers to match the number on each turkey.

7. Ordering Numbers

Counting by 10 craft with paper plate turkey

Students can practice counting by 10s with this fun turkey craft made from a paper plate! Students will practice ordering numbers with this craft because they will be given a strip of numbers that aren’t in the correct order. They will need to put them in numerical order as they place them on the turkey craft.

All of the activities that I’ve shared so far are included in a bundle of November units for kindergarten. Just click below to take a closer look at everything included in this resource.

9. Clip and Count Turkey Center

Your students can get some much-needed fine motor practice as they complete this clip and count turkey-themed math center! Students will place clothespin “feathers” on the task card to match the number on the turkey’s pumpkin.

10. Race to 30! Center

This math center is a great companion activity for “The Great Turkey Race” if you’re using that as a November read aloud in your classroom.

In this math game, the student will roll a die and then move their piece either backward or forward on the game board according to the key provided. They will continue to roll until they reach 30! Students can practice saying the numbers as they move across the board, which is great counting practice!

11. Roll and Color Center

This is another fun game for math centers! It includes a printable turkey die that students will use to identify numbers to color on their game mat.

The turkey on each side of the die is holding a ten frame, which can help students practice subitizing as they play the game. You can laminate the game mat or put it in a page protector so that students can erase and start again. The more repetition that students can get with number identification, the more fluent they’ll become with this skill!

The three centers that I’ve shared in this post are included in one set of November math and literacy centers for kindergarten. If you’d like to take a closer look at everything included in this resource, just click below to find it in the A Spoonful of Learning shop or in my TPT store.

12. Turkey Math Game

For some additional subitization and counting practice, students can play this turkey game during math centers.

Adding candy to a turkey game mat

They will take turns rolling a die and then adding a colored candy or manipulative to the game mat according to the key. Students are always so excited to see which color feather they build first! Once they have completed all of the turkey feathers, they can clear the board and start again. This is a great open-ended activity for math centers!

Free Turkey Games for Kindergarten

The turkey math game that I shared above is included in a set of free turkey games for kindergarten. In addition to the turkey feather number practice, there is also a turkey-themed game for beginning sounds practice.
