Hi everyone! I hope you are all had a wonderful winter break and new year!
I am so excited to share with you all a new reading activity to encourage and practice reading fluency.
During this time of year, students are beginning or may have already mastered identifying letters and their sounds. Once this occurs, reading small words soon takes off! There is nothing more exciting to see as a teacher then when students begin to blend and read words. That light bulb turns on and students confidence soars!
My new Read It, See It Words Activity is an interactive activity that has a fun little twist!
Here is a closer look:
This reading activity has tracking dots underneath each letter to practice 1:1. Students will get to touch each letter and say its sound. Then they will slide their finger on the arrow to blend the word together and read it.
Students will match the correct pictures to the words.
Last, students will get to continue practicing by reading the CVC word and revealing the picture underneath to see if they have read the word correctly!
What I love about this activity is that students become so excited and proud of their reading while also practicing and developing reading fluency. They can’t wait to practice and master reading more words!
There are currently CVC words, Blends and Digraphs, CVCe Words, and R-Controlled Vowels included in this Read It, See It Activity.
