Meet the Teacher

It’s crazy to think about meet the teacher night last year and what meet the teacher night is going to look like this year.

Let’s have some real talk…

First of all, how are you? (deep breath)

Second, we all need to remember this word- GRACE

This is a word I am having to constantly tell myself lately, daily, and hourly somedays.

This is a word that is hard to say to myself and to listen to especially when I have a Type A personality, am a planner, and like to have as much in control as possible.

Unfortunately so much (okay just about all of it) is out of our control right now.

(deep breath)

It is officially that time of year… Back to School and I can’t believe I am typing these words, but I have NO IDEA what that even looks like right now. I know so many of you are in the same position.

However, one thing that I do know going in to this school year is that we are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.

This is the time of year where I like to start organizing in hopes to make back to school a bit less stressful with everything that is needed during this time of year.

I always love to look through my Meet the Teacher / Back to School Flipbook to see if there is anything that needs to be updated, changed, or added for the upcoming school year.

I like to start thinking about Meet the Teacher Night because this is the time where I start to get my flipbook about my school and classroom prepared to hand out to families.

My Back to School / Meet the Teacher Flipbook has always been my go-to parent communication because everything about my classroom and school that I want families to know about is in one place. No loose papers falling out of folders and/or book bags. Everything is all together and the flipbook always catches the families eye to want to look through it.

However, Meet the Teacher night may look a lot different this year. It may not happen at all or it may be a few months later than usual.

I want to be prepared regardless (Type A personality kicking in) and get my flipbook updated. I was thinking about how I could get this flipbook in to the hands of my families even if they do not start in the classroom or come to the classroom at all this year.

I realized if they are going to be learning digitally, then I needed to make this flipbook digital.

I am so excited to share with you all my Back to School / Meet the Teacher Digital Flipbook!

This Back to School / Meet the Teacher flipbook is EDITABLE.

The ideas that you can do for this flipbook are endless! Completely make this flipbook into your own. You can change fonts, add color, add images, add shapes, add animation, and so much more

It is not only EASY, but fun to edit and allows you to create a flipbook to go with your classroom! I walk you through the process with very detailed directions to make it easy for you to create! I also give you lots of different tips on things you can add to your flipbook.

What is so neat about this digital flipbook is that it is interactive for families. When you touch or click one of the tabs on the main page, it sends you directly to that page making this digital flipbook interactive.

You will use Google Slides to edit this digital flipbook and I give you details on how to easily send this to your students and families once you complete your own flipbook.

Now that I have both a printable and digital version of my Back to School / Meet the Teacher flipbook, I will be waiting on some more direction from my district on specific details that I want to add to my flipbook. Adding any new information to both my digital and printable flipbook is an easy and quick fix!
