Let’s have fun practicing positional words!

Johnny Appleseed is such a fun person to learn about this time of year.

This mini reader has Johnny Appleseed teaching students about positional words by having them place apples in certain place around the apple tree.

The sentences on each page are repetitive with only the positional word changing.

Students will have fun gluing the apples in their books, learning positional words, and reading this mini reader!

Last week, I gave you a peek at some of my fall literacy centers and I am excited to share with you some of the math centers that are included!

Each center activity includes:

One of my favorite parts about centers is how they feel like games.

Students don't even realize they are learning and practicing skills because they are so engaged!

I love having sight word activities that can be us

I love having sight word activities that can be used in many different ways.

These sight word printables are perfect for doing just that!

You can have students trace, write, and rainbow write different sight words one day.

Then, you can use the same printable another day and place it in a paper protector.

Now, have students trace and write the sight word with a dry erase marker and build the sight word with play dough.

You can add these sight word printables to morning work, centers, small groups, morning tubs, homework, independent work, and so much more!

This is such a fun time of year for apple themed activities and to learn about Johnny Appleseed!

I love having crafts in my weekly plans and adding different skills to the crafts.

This Johnny Appleseed craft has students making a number of apples of their choice with their fingerprints. Then, they turn those fingerprints into apples!

Next, they write about how many apples they made.

These are adorable to hang in the classroom, on a bulletin board, or in the hallway during this time of year!

I absolutely love reading this story as a way to introduce different story elements.

This story elements extension activity for The Three Billy Goats Gruff has your students learning about the characters, setting, and sequencing the story.

Students get to place the correct pictures in the flip book for each story element.

This will allow you to see your students story comprehension.

This also allows students to dive deeper into understanding the characters, setting, and sequencing.
